I have fought
with knee pain for some length of time. While visiting Pascal back in January, his daughter, a skilled chiropractor herself, suggested I had some issues that she might correct.
I had the several days of the Shot show to work, so I was a bit afraid to take any chances that I might be in more pain, but I promised to go see someone qualified as soon as I could.
That turned out to be last night. The Someone Qualified was Dr Mark Werking. And the work he did was impressive.
I have not been able to straighten my left leg for about ten years. I still cannot fully straighten it, but it is a damned sight better than it was, and he assures me that I will improve with a few more treatments. hell, one day I might be able to run again.
Well, maybe not run.
But still, the trip home from Peoria, which usually requires two or more leg-stretching stops, did not require any, and I am now headed to bed with zero pain, which means I will sleep well. I have a local chiro recommended to me by Dr Werking and will be bringing my Xrays to her later in the month for followup work. It’s too damned soon to tell whether any of this is permanent, but so far, so good. I’ll take it.

Chiros are good for the aches and pains that we get as we age.
Mostly the aches run around muscles and ligaments that are ossifying as we age.
I am finding that what I am doing at TKD is helping as well. It is kind of like low impact aerobics. Right now we are getting about 5 lessons a week and I am in less pain overall that I have been in for decades.
If I can keep this up I am beginning to look forward to being old. Which is something I never thought would happen.
I have a brother-in-law and sister-in-law who are both chiropractors. Chiropractic is good for what it’s good for, and useless for everything else. It’s a specialty, just like you wouldn’t go to a cardiologist for a broken arm, neither would you go to a chiro.
Are there chiropractors who are quacks? Sure, just like any other doctor. I had a chiro tell me he helped someone get his sperm count up, if you hear crap like that run, don’t walk, away.
What, the chiroprator put the guy in so much pain, he no longer wanted to masturbate?
I try not to let the chiro touch me there.
His assistant, on the other hand…. Actually, no.
What ever happened to the lesbian chiropractor with the scent of jasmine in just the right place?
Glad to hear it! Pain is bad enough to endure, especially when you ‘can’ get some relief. And a good night’s sleep is well worth it!
Congratulations on that!
I’m all hinked up, as well, as you know. But frankly, the thought of going to a chiroprachter gives me the shivers. Probably ignorance on my part.
This guy was surprisingly good, and not painful. I was in Peoria anyway, which made it less traumatic, but I can see if I can find someone he recommends in your area as well.
My chiro is the team chiro for the Houston Dynamo wrong-shaped football (soccer) team.
He knows what he’s doing, and has full affiliation with a whole bunch of M.D.s for stuff that’s not chiro.
They cross-consult, and work together in a course of treatment.
Find a chiro like mine, and you’re way ahead of the game.

It was her chiro who told my wife to run, not walk — figuratively, of course — to a hip surgeon before her hip got so bad that she couldn’t walk. She still goes to him weekly for rehab.
One of these days I may let him crack my knees.
