Micro first aid training
My club has been doing short educational programs post-meeting, and they have been pretty good. Last night we did a half hour just on arterial blood flow as related to gunshot/knife wounds. Tourniquets, placement, types, emergency substitutes, etc. I like this kind of learning because the trainer- an ER nurse- made sure everyone actually did the presented demonstration- everyone. So you got hands on focused on a specific thing. I won’t lose that quickly. I know they’re doing more like it soon and I’m looking forward to it.

I got some training when back in the 90’s when I was calling HPR matches. I need a refresher/update bad. Good for your club doing this, could save a life one bad day.
Lord I can’t write for shit..
Hey, that was more coherent than some of my posts.
If you are saving a life, it was a bad day for someone.
Spent a couple hours last night stuck on an overpass due to a construction caused accident. Truck and pickup tangled. They had that out pretty quick but it took the HP about another hour to diagram the accident.
Oh well, that is some time I will never get back, but the guy in the pick up might never have time again.
Such things can teach, if you are of a mind.
Glad you are getting some good first aid training. I hope you never use it, but if you need it it will be there.
Is this at your gun club? Amateur surgery club? Home dentistry club? I’ve seen you reference these post-meeting mints for a while.
I’ve got a line on a combat medic that did well in the sand box. Maybe I need to ask him for a combat lifesaver course. He mentioned that those were mandatory in the 2ID at the time. Our gun club is 10 miles from the nearest hospital, and usually has NO, ZERO, 0 first aid supplies on hand.
Thanks for the mental splinter to get after this.
Yep, gun club. We have phones at the bays and are getting AED’s.
That’s good, and having a blow out kit is a GOOD thing too!
