Happy Father’s Day!
Dad, G-d rest his soul, would have been 85 this year. He never got to meet the Ogwife, or the Oglet, but I like to think he’s watching. Thanks, Dad.

Mine would have turned 85, this past March, as well. I like to think he now has the best seats “in the house” for all the Cubs, Hawks, and Bears games. Has a bitchen vegetable garden.
Thinking about how old Dad would have been, gave me some pause….as I had been thinking Mom was “only” 84…she is about a half year older…and will be 86 this July…still sharp as a tack…and in as good a condition as one could hope for at her age.
Is it possible it is your Dad who is responsible for “sending” you the varied, and very interesting dreams you oft-times write about? If so, it shows an amazing sense of humor on his part.
As for mine…..he can be found on many occasions sitting in the musty corners of my mind…in a comfy chair, cigar in one hand, scotch in the other….tossing ice cubes at what little conscience I have left….hoping to poke me in the right direction…once in awhile it works.
I miss him….the older I get, the more I realize how far short I fall in comparison.
Mine is 80 and in the nursing home. He fell about a year ago and it has been down hill pretty steady since then.
Lots of miles left in him yet, but he is depended on the VA for health care and we all now how efficient they are.
I’m very-very lucky, my Pop’s turning 90 this summer and apart from a bit of fore-aft instability and muscle-loss he’s good to go – and intellectually in spades. Which is some help to Mom who’s turning 84 – they keep each other going pretty good without much help except occasional questions about her internet browser.
