Toolblogging
Steve has been having a good time talking about his tools, what he’s buying, what he has. I have been having some fun at his expense about the workbench, but I do enjoy talking tools, and I’m sure there are a few others out there who do as well. So I thought I’d post some pictures of my tools, just for the hell of it.
I didn’t clean or straighten anything up, either, as should be obvious. This is how the stuff always is, and I can find anything in the toolbox in a second.
Drawer one. Top drawer. has the magical property of knowing if I need a phillips or slotted screwdriver, and being full of the other one.
Two. Measuring tools. And a hopkins & allen falling block riflke action.
Three. odd size drills and small specialty tools
Four. Box wrenches and flare nut wrenches
Five. 1/4 and 3/8 drive sockets. SOme missing. Thank the nephew.

Eight. Taps and dies
nine. fasteners and odds and ends.
Ten. Wire labels and comestables.

The good stuff.
The nephew is walking a very thin line.
All of my stuff except for a few minor things is in storage till I buy my new digs.
Wow. Tool pr0n. cool…
I have one of those girlie toolboxes not good for much more than hanging a picture on the wall. But I’m thinking about adding a pair of those passion pants. Whaddaya think?
I used to have a lot more until the 11 year old got to them. I now have more in the yard than the box. Assorted Box end wrenches, screw drivers, monkey wrenches, levels, measuring tools and drills. I’m working on restocking and I’ve bought a padlock.
I’ve got toolboxes filled with toolboxes. I have mechanic’s tools, shipwright tools, machinist tools, gunsmith tools, and tools to adjust and repair other tools. I’ve got electric hand and stationary tools. Skilsaws, routers, power miter box, dremel tool, laminate trimmer, 4″ angle grinder, 7″ variable speed grinder polisher, belt and orbital hand sanders, several power drills, both corded and cordless, band saw, table saw, drill press, 7″x12″ machine lathe, Mini milling machine, and sundry peripheral tooling for those. I suppose I should include handloading and bullet casting tools for over 60 different cartridges, and the rifles, pistols and shotguns to go with. Plus muzzleloading rifles and pistols, and their support tools. And a pretty eclectic assortment of electrical and electronic gages, meters, and tools.
Jebus!

yeah, Gerry, I do a lot of machine work too. The other toolbox with those tools is down by the machines in the basement.
“What’s in your tool box?”
Several thousand rounds of ammuntion. Specifically, the several thousand rounds that won’t fit in my ammo locker.
Oh. You meant tools.
Those are the shiny metal things that people use to fix things, right? I’ve heard about those things…
(I, of course, am kidding. People fixing things is only an urban legend).
Oh good!!
Hold on to them Og – we’re coming to visit soon and I’ll give you an oportunity to use a variety of them.
Damned straight you’re coming to visit. Better get your ass down here and damned soon.
(s’my brotherinlaw, folks. Another guy who married well above himself)
Ooooh…Can I send pics too?
I’ve got parts of guns in my toolbox(es) as well.
Hmmmm…is there a pattern here?
Double, as long as you don’t get too carried away, if you send ’em I’ll post em.
My son used to do that. Then when he had his own tools, he left the damn things out.
Year ago for Christmas he got a Craftsman 1/4″ through 1/2″ drive socket set, the whole works. And the information that a: these were the last tools I’d ever get for him and b: if I found any of THESE out in the weather I’d kick his ass.
He hasn’t left them out yet.
