I finally found a young kid
who I hope can give me a hand doing some stuff in the backyard.
He’s 16 and pretty big, we’ll see how tough he is. I can’t return him to his mom broken, so we’ll see how today goes. He just got his first gun (Well, his dad did, and he’ll have it transferred to himself when he’s old enough) so he likes being paid in ammo. I figure some ammo and some cash and if I don’t get him in the poison ivy or bees he’ll be OK.

Clone him!
Paid in ammo…..
Now that just put a big ol’ smile on my face.

That is a young man with his priorities straight!
Good luck to you both.

Well played :)
Hope he works out. I hired some young guys to clean up some of the place and I did more showing them what needed to be done than they did.
Course it all depends on what you need done. Piling brush is dirty work, but anyone should be able to do that.
Og, he needs the poison and bees so he has something to tell his grandchildren decades from now.
Good luck with that! :-) And if he wants .22, he’s overcharging you! :-D
roflmao. Yes, indeed- he was most helpful, and indeed, it was nice to have the extra hands. I will need to get him more accustomed to some things but I think between us we can get a lot done this summer/fall. I have lots of 45, so I gave him some cash and a couple hundred rounds of 45, and he was tickled.
Mentoring the yout!! Hope it works out well for you both. They do tend to listen more often than we realize.
Can you see it about 20 years from now….
“Well son, I remember one of the first jobs I ever had. Doing yard work, and other odds and ends for this older fella up the street. There was this one time…..”
I worked for mr coon on his family farm. He was 80, I was 10. Never worked so hard in my life. Those cold glasses of iced tea and spam samdwiches still taste nice.
Heck it was only central illinois. 95 degrees 95 % humidity.
