One of the provisions
of Obamacare is the ability of MD’s to ask patients if they have firearms. Professor Hale discusses it here, among other things, and explains the need to lie through your teeth.
But why, Og? I’m a very honest person!
That’s great- but when the md’s records become readily accessible to the Fed Gov, the gun question is enough to give them adequate reason to deny you health care coverage.
Learn to lie. Get used to breaking the law. Remember illegal and immoral are separate entities. And morals- good ones- are superior in every way

Be careful with the 4473, lying there is equal to lying to the court or so I understand.
I have no reason to lie on a 73.
Thanks.
I am working towards personal transactions for the arsenal.
As to the other group, if they do not need to know, don’t tell.
Like the old joke goes, all my firearms were lost in the great canoe sinking.
I have not bought a firearm from a dealer in over thirty years. Shooting stuff, yes, but that’s it. I have no problem or trouble lieing my ass off to any official or gauleiter.
Malum prohibitum v malum in se. Lie to the motherfuckers.
Especially lie about lying.
Lying is reason enough to deny your claim though. Try lying about being a smoker to get a lower rate, then have them find nicotine in your bloodstream during a blood test.
Indeed. If i have to lose i would always rather lose by my rules than theirs.
@ Mark, Do you not see the difference between lieing to the government when providing them information that they will use against you, and defrauding a private insurance company for your own benefit?
Especially if you are one of those people who is arming up getting ready for a revolution. You will kill them and stack em like chord wood but won’t lie to them? What religion is that?
@ Professor Hale: You misunderstand me. I was merely pointing out that, whether they deny you coverage because you told them truthfully that you own guns, or they do so because they caught you lying about same, the result is the same, denial of coverage. Denial of coverage for which you’re legally obligated to pay.
I think lying to the government ought to be a spectator sport, except in cases of perjury. I make that exception only because if people can’t be compelled to tell the truth (or remain silent) in matters of justice then we have no justice system at all, we have a system based on who can tell the most compelling lie (aka Congress).
Mark: theres no blood test for gun ownership.
Og: agreed, but there are subpoena accessible membership lists for gun clubs/state firearms associations/NRA, likewise accessible credit-card records looking for (say) Brownels or Ammoman. All in the name of determining insurability.
Not to mention, how long before lying to your doctor about gun ownership becomes a crime just like lying on a 4473 or lying to a cop/detective/investigator? Paging Martha Stewart….
All the better if it becomes a crime. Read what Knox says above, hes the smartest person i know.
Actually, I am the smartest person you know. you merely can’t recognize it. I am also the most humble person you know.
Hale, youre infantry smart
Knox is chuck norris ninja smart with cheese
Another conundrum: insuring your guns. Most homeowner insurance policies have only $4K coverage for guns. To get more coverage, you need a “personal articles floater”, which requires you to list the guns by make, model, serial number and caliber.
When the government suspends the BOR for real, those insurance company records will guide SWAT teams right to your door.
When I asked my insurance company about it, they told me ” those records are currently privileged information between policyholders and the company.” Note the weasel word in that statement.
“Actually, I am the smartest person you know. you merely can’t recognize it. I am also the most humble person you know. ”
I’ve rarely found people who say this to be truthful.
Its a darned shame but the US is moving to the normal pattern of things in this world, a low trust society. Just like the 3rd world and China and well everywhere else outside maybe Japan (sort of) and parts of Europe
Unless you know for sure someone can be trusted, don’t trust them and this especially means anyone under any regulatory authority.
This will mean a race between computers, data bases, surveillance technology and the fact that no one at any level will tell the truth or soon enough act altruistically outside their circle of trust or in some cases if its part of their business methods.
if you want an example of society like that now, simply Russia. As is said, its not Western, Russians do not practice altruism either.
Not a pleasant thought but if this will cheer up anyone, its recoverable if the rot hasn’t set in too deep.
