In the late 80’s
I was recovering from Ogwife #1, living with Mom, running around with partner and making damned near minimum wage keeping a little woodshop hammered together. One of the guys at work took me to a filthy little dive where Albert Collins played live. Listening to Collins play ‘Dirty Dishes” was one of my best memories of that period. If you never heard it, he does things with a guitar you’d swear were impossible.

I have a long story about encountering the amazing AC at an impromptu blues jam in LA back in the lat 80’s.
Short version, he totally schooled and held court among the local hot shot celebrity/studio-pickers and their modern-guitar-hero chops with one long, bent to hell, vibrato driven, feed-back riding note thundering down from blues heaven breaking down the gates of holly-weird hell……
Shit..had that too many dirty dishes in the 80’s also.
The axe on that man talks.
I was lucky enough to catch Mr. Collins performing at Blues Fest in Chicago in late 80s. That performance still sticks out in my mind. Just wow.
