I keep on keepiing on
I have three trees to get cut- hiring a service, I do not have the skills or ambition to do so myself, and I have a bucketload of other crap going on. I just want to get it all under wraps before winter sets in. Ed Hering visited for a while on Sunday, which made it relaxing, and he’s not offended when I talk with him but keep working. it was a very nice visit. I wish there were more time for that kind of thing.
I look sometimes at the vacant land behind the pond and think about having a small two story cottage there, a sort of a monks cell. I think I can live so cheaply as to be almost free. I don’t have any fantasies about “off grid” but the idea of minimizing my footprint appeals. Don’t think I can talk the wife into it though.

As long as you’re not offended by me not offering to help–I am a firm believer in the old “too many cooks” maxim, and my confused fumbling is often detrimental to the efforts of others–we’re good.
Always nice to come by for a chat, and if our schedules worked out more often I’d do it more often.
Its all good. Im used to having people watch me work.
A coworker expressed amazement that I am willing to pull apart someone’s laptop while they watch. I told her that I used to do that all the damned time when I did on-site work, and it doesn’t bother me at all. I know what you mean.
My attitude is that if a repair tech. didn’t let me watch him tear my laptop apart, I’d find a different techie.
On the other hand, all I do is watch. My opinion and/or help has never been needed, if they were, I wouldn’t need a technician, would I?
The only help I’ve ever been asked for in the above scenario was a fresh bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and more cold Mountain Dew. I was pleased to keep ’em coming.
