Trees.
I love em, and I hate to see them come down, but I have three, one dead, one dying, one leaning perilously close to the house. And today they come down. Assuming the tree service shows up. it is bloody cold out there, I would not blame them one bit if they did not.
Update: they took a look and ran off. The boss, who does the quoting, apparently doesn’t do the cutting. And they’re short a climber; I don’t blame them, I wouldn’t want to do this job short a man either.

I love trees.
That aren’t near my house or sidewalks, or ideally on my property at all.
Because trees in the aforementioned conditions are endless Goddamn nightmares.
(Guess who had to pay a surprising amount of money to fix a sidewalk that a probably-city-mandated tree destroyed?)
yep. People who place trees too close to homes or concrete or what have you, are bound to have issues. A tree taller than it’s distance to the house is a liability and not an asset. A tree which can grow into septic/sidewalk/driveway/foundation is a problem. And don’t get me started on gutters.
We had a coupler of big sycamores at one time. Never did figure out how tall they were. Had and outfit come in take them down in January. Fewer divots that way. Still some. We have a couple of oaks in the neighbors yard that will probably be coming down next. Every bit as big. Kind of over powers the house.
Yeah, get RID of leaners… BEFORE they join you in the living room!
