Some mornings
When the pavement is dry and the traffic moving, the sun rising behind me and the line of clouds looks as solid as a distant range of mountains, i actually enjoy the ride.

Some days are good that way. I sometimes thing heaven could be like that.
I often imagine cloud banks as mountains, too :)
Those are the times I can slightly envy the life of an OTR truck driver. Momentarily.
Otherwise, the thought of 30+ days on the road without seeing home, gives me the cold-shivers.
What I did used to love though, was the view you’d described, from the seat of the Gold Wing. It can be hard to commute to work on one, when you know you really want to just peel-away and go ride the hill country roads for the day.
