Sorry
Yesterday the whole sitemeter thing shut me down, and i tried to fix it myself, and fucked it up more. Good news is to anyone who wants adamned good web provider, I’m very pleased with Total Choice Hosting, because they had me back online within 5 minutes of me submitting a support ticket.
Last couple days have been hectic due to I don’t know what, but at least the rain has made the commute miserable as well.
The Escape has a lot higher HP to weight ratio than the Exploder did, even the exploder with the V8, and since I need to get a lot of wear out of them the tires are a bit stiff. (I used to run Yokohama AVS-A Plus Fours, great grippy tires, that lasted maybe 40,000 miles) Anyway this means that the little yellow submarine will break the tires free almost at will, and for the last couple days, that’s what I’ve been doing- finding lots with no parking bumpers and no cars and spinning it around on it’s axis, all four tires spinning and throwing up a rooster tail of sleet. It has made it possible for me to not knife everyone in the neck. Just. Hope y’all’s winter is shaping up to be not too damned miserable.

when I lived in Ohio, I used to go to the mall parking lot on icy days and do the same thing. Sunday afternoon when the mall was closed, due to the “Blue Laws.” There were no parking lot lights either as the mall closed at 5 pm. Lots of fun a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
Even the 4cyl Escapes are kickass. Originally I was holding firm for a 6cyl, but when I actually got a chance to drive one with a 4, I was all like, “Why do I need a 6?”
If I was going to tow with it, yeah. Otherwise, no point to it.
Jeez Loweeze, when I wanna do that the Bosslady gets all hyper…
So I gotta do it alone…..
The “not knifing people in the neck” part is the hardest.
I used to do that–take a vehicle to an empty lot and practice spins and skid control–but the Jeep feels too top-heavy for that, and anyway I had enough practice last winter without needing to go looking for it.
One time I had to turn around, back when I had the ’93 T-bird, and ducked into a snowy lot to do so, hitting the gas and cranking the wheel. The friend who was with me said, in a mock-hillbilly voice, “Ed! Ed! This is dangerous, and wrong!” O Lord did I laugh at that.
Weather wise my late Fall (not Winter until 12/21) has been rather boring.
Some behavior issues out of my 9 year old boy are making up for it though.
His first trip to the office ever today to cap off an unusually long period of failure to declutter his room at home (his younger sister is normally the problem there and she cleaned hers right away).
Sounds like a blast to me.
I’ve been known to kick the rear end out from time to time.
Not always when it was slick out.
