When I was but a lad
One of the networks showed a grainy, black and white Peter Pan, starring Mary Martin. I was too young to understand why, but Mary Martin made me feel funny in the pants. So for a few years, before I learned she was a she, I had a few odd gender confusion issues.
I’m watching the (pre-recorded) “Live” version now. Oh, the Robin Williams movie was ok, and it had it’s charms, and Dustin Hoffman did a better than average job, but the original pan is the best pan ever ( Don’t get me started on that Mia Farrow crap) This is pretty good. I’m going to stick around to see if Christopher Walken sucks me into watching the rest of it. It is a bit bittersweet, but only because I’ve been to where real lost boys are, and i know what this is really all about.

Sandy Duncan for me, but yeah. Although I KNEW Peter was played by a female, so no confusion.
The Italian teacher at my Junior High school was looked exactly like Sandy (to the point where there were rumors that she WAS Sandy Duncan, researching a part as a teacher in an upcoming movie).
Sigh.
This will make you feel funny all over.

Jenny
We have generation of lost boys. Mores the pity.
My wife thought this version was the worst thing she’d ever watched.
Jenny, I may never follow another link from you again….
I think Cathy Rigby was my mary Martin. But it was obvious she was a girl. The only confusion I had was wondering why I was supposed to believe she was a boy.
Ed, if I have made your day a little more surreal, my work here is done. :)
