At my dentist, a couple weeks back
I stood, paying my bill, while the counter lady set up my next appointment.
On her desk was a gingerbread man with gumdrop buttons. I remember a couple years back seeing a tin of them in the store, and as they were a good deal, I brought them home. Well decorated, good shape, no gumdrop buttons, Bland flavor, chewier than you’d expect. But not horrible, so I kept eating.
Halfway through the tin I upended it to look for a “best by” date in case they tasted odd because they were stale.
Turns out they were dog biscuits.
Ate ’em anyway.

Thanks, I needed that smile.
LOL. If, by chance, you happen to find a peanut, I advise you leave it be.
The wife and I were in Costco once and I saw this big plastic container full of (I thought) beef jerky and suggested to my wife that we should buy it. She asked why, since we don’t have a dog. Turned out to be dog treats.
She still jokes with me every time we go to Costco and see them sitting there.
If you get an uncontrollable urge to lie in the middle of the street and lick your balls, get to a doctor, stat!

The standards for dog/pet food are higher than for human food. Purina will turn grain trucks away if they have too much wild garlic, weeds or mold. (Unless its imported from China).
So you’re probably good.
We snack on horse treats while on the trail. They are low carb.
Did that once. The mother in law thought they were to expensive for us though. Pretty tasty all in all.
Hey Fjord, do work at Purina?
I have, and the big blocks of frozen “meat” were CLEARLY marked- “not for human consumption” I didn’t see any mold- it was a freezer- but did not look appetizing at allll.
The “beggin strips” (look/smell like bacon) drove me nuts when hungry, but I didn’t have the balls to try one after seeing the freezer… and knowing what dogs eat in the ditch- would more than make me puke at home(aka-rotten whatall)
but yeah- I have eaten dog buiscuits, not bad.
