The Oglet is back off to school.
The house feels empty again, no more teenager wandering around the kitchen in PJ’s looking for Captain Crunch, no more giggling in the bedroom as mom and dad tried to sleep, no more hugs in church after mass. At least not for a while.
The old Explorer is plenty reliable but I always breathe easier when I get the call that she has made it. Especially in this weather. I can’t help but worry, I’m the dad.

Never ends. still worry about mine but at 22 and 26 I can’t do a whole lot about it.
yep. Tuition is paid. Iphone is replaced with new one. Car is restored to fully functional. I won’t see her again for a few months.
What Paul said. My youngest is 33 with two kids of her own. They live far away, but were home for Christmas. Well, my home. When she told me they were home safe was when I realized I had been holding my breath. They will always be our babies!
Mine are grown and graduated now, but those days seem just like yesterday, yes…
