stoner boids.
High tension lines cross the tri-state just at Alsip. Each morning, there are birds perched on only one of the wires, and only directly above the roadbed. It finally dawned on me why. Theyre getting stoned off car and truck exhaust.
DUUUUUDE!!!!!!

It’s all those ethanol fumes.
Those stoned birds will be stone soon. Even ethanol fumes are most deadly gas.
Now those pigeons who ate the rotten corn were on to something. They never did fly straight.
Most likely warmer up there. But stoned is more funny, so never mind.
It’s probably warmer there.
Or… they’re perched on that one wire because it’s the neutral/ground/static wire and it carries no voltage. All the other wires carry voltage and as the voltage increases, so does its propensity for ‘corona’, the discharge of electricity directly into the atmosphere. This is very uncomfortable at the least, and at higher voltages, can start burning off the tips of beaks and feathers.
MC
Now that would be a tv show id watch.
I would have guessed the opposite. That they would perch on the charged wire because it would be slightly warmed by resistance. The ground wire would be room temperature (freezing). They are at the center of the wire (over the road) because that is where the wire arc is flattest and easiest to grip.
That or they are just fucking with you.
Im pretty sure its d all of the above.
