If you’re the kind of person
Who sees snowfall and says, great, I can go skiing! or sees a path, and says, hey, I’ll get out my bike! then you may want to seek professional help.
Our club has a fenceline they walk every year that needs to be maintained, and this year the club VP had suggested a biathlon/bikeathlon, and we have been clearing trails to that purpose. I see stuff like this, and i just want to shoulder a rife and walk. We have a mile and a half, maybe two miles, of relatively flat trails that we will either bike or ski, and at the end of each lap, stop and shoot a course of fire like a biathlon. It looks like it will be a great deal of fun. To watch.

From an Olympic bi-athlete: Before she was 30, her eyesight made the sport almost fruitless. She said she could still site a bulls-eye just fine, but could easily put a bullet in a competitor’s target by mistake. I leave to you to observe and see if older members in your club wind up winning points for opponents.
Eyesight is a critical factor. Thankfully this competition will be weighted towards old out of shape men.
Coming home from an errand today, I had to stop for 3 pretty does in the road, about 1/2 mile from my place.
Funny how they know when season’s over. I only hunt does anyway; I like the meat better, & you can’t eat antlers. I could’ve dropped at least one, maybe two, with my carry arm, but it would be illegal.
Don’t have room in the freezer anyhow.
I see a trail like that and think, “Where’s my dirt bike?”
Twenty years ago I would be all over a bikeathlon or biathlon. Now that I’m old and out of shape not so much. Does sound interesting. Let us know how it goes.
“weighted towards old out of shape men”,
I got nothing………
