i have watched, with some interest
The Hugo clusterfuck. Im probably off base, but heres what ive seen:
A group of people think they get to choose what is good or bad regardless of what actually is good or bad.
A group of people who would like there to be a reasonably level playing field
A handful of authors/bloggers who mistakenly think of themselves as the only adults in the room, telling everyone how they should behave.
Of the three, i find the last most irritating.
In the end, it has introduced me to some new authors that i enjoy. So ill take it. A net positive in my book. And bookshelf.

It was the shit-fit that the SJW’s pitched in 2014 against Vox Day that caused me to pick up his “Opera Vita Aeterna,” on the contrarian principal that if an SWJ hated him that much, I’d probably like him. And I did; it’s a great story featuring monks, an Elf wizard, and Catholic theology based on Thomas Aquinas.
Ditto on everyting you just said.
I was pissed off enough about the whole thing to actually buy a supporting membership so I could vote.
Won’t be much more than pissing into the windstorm, but after 50 years of reading SF and never really caring about the Hugos, I figure I should put my two cents in on the side of light.
A few for the good of the many.
I think it is tail wagging the dog, but what do I know.
All I got out of that was something being introduced into your end. I didn’t need to know that.
Thankfully, i can not be held legally or morally responsible for the voices in your head.
