Strange brew
Wife had a couple pizzas delivered last night, a cheese veggie pizza for myself and the nephew, and a cheese/olive/pineapple pizza for her. Now, me, I wouldn’t go near a pizza with pineapple on it. Unless, well, unless I could reach it from where I was sitting. Not too bad cold, really.

Pineapple doesn’t belong on Pizza, it’s in the official Biloxi rulebook. In addition pineapple’s mixture with olives could cause a rash of crapblogging.
A pizza without any meat toppings? What kind of a neandrathal are you?
Try a Hiawaiian Pizza – pineapple and ham. It’s actually pretty damn good IF it’s cooked long enough. Kind of like a ham glazed with pineapple.
Hello? Lent? friday?

No Fish On Pizza
Anchovies are bait you use to catch something you really do want to eat.
It’s Sunday, order a Hawaiian, Hiawwiiann, Hawwiann, those islands with Oahu, Pizza today, then.
Actually, pineapple and bacon is better.
Hawaiian is pretty tasty!
Sans meat seems wrong though.
Jimmy, it was friday during lent. I can’t eat meat. Would I rather have meat? Sure. but it was friday. During lent.
Speaking of affairs of religion, Howard Veit is pounding his book of the month selection, which is an old favorite of mine.
All of you young turds around here are advised to read ‘A Canticle For Leibowitz’. I read the book back in the 70’s through the eyes of a child. Perhaps Howard is right and a second reading is in order.
:)
Jim,
Haven’t read that in over 20 years. And it was a great read back then. Will have to see if I can dig it up again.
Young turds? I read a canticle for liebovitz about thirty eight years ago. My copy still has Hershy Bar thumbprints on it. And you’re right, it holds up.
Og, you’re a fiend. Now I want a pizza, and it’s 2:20 in the morning. I owe you one, buddy!
Concur that A Canticle for Leibowitz is a classic. I first read it back in ’73 and again circa 1080.
Might also recommend Earth Abides. A bit less literary than Canticle, but still a very good work in the “what comes after the world ends” genre.
Another one I recommend is Alas Babylon by Pat Frank.
No such thing as pineapple on pizza, it becomes a cake.
