On doctors
Tomorrow afternoon at 3:30, I go for an angiogram. I have been back and forth to several doctors, the most recent of which, a cardiologist, feels convinced that i have some coronary blockage. I’m fairly convinced that it’s a muscle spasm in my arm and chest. Haven’t managed to get anyone to look at my ARM yet, but they sure have messed about with my heart. I guess I am seeing a cardiologist. If all you have is a hammer, as my friend Jenny says, everything looks like a nail.
I’m gonna hope this all comes out OK. Frankly, it scares hell out of me. They are making noises like they might have to put in a stent etc., and if they do I’ll be out of commission for a couple days. If you don’t see a post here by monday, well, it’s been nice knowing y’all.
Update: The test was every bit as awful and annoying as I had expected, and just a little bit more. They ended up making me stay overnight, and I couldn’t move for 6 hours following the procedure. My back hurt enough that they had to give me morphine to let me sleep.
Thanks for your support and good wishes, folks. I’m certain it helped.

Good luck. I’ll be praying for you.
Good luck. I’ll be praying for you.
I will be thinking of you. Good luck with it all.
good luck. take the test. better safe than sorry. i know more than a couple of people that had mild heart attacks, and refused to believe it.
get the test!
Hang tight. You’re in my prayers.
Og, many heart blockages manifest themselves as difficulties or pains in the arms and legs.
Sounds like you’re catching it early which is a good thing. Listen to your doctors, they see quite a lot of this kind of thing.
We’re pulling for you.

Mmm. Morphine.
Glad you’re back with us.
Morphine can be your friend, but it won’t pick you up at the airport.
Woke this morning (half hour ago, 4’30 AM) with a backache like a quick boot to the spine. I think my back wants a fix. Did some tylenol with codeine, hope that helps. Don’t need an addiction superimposed on this crap either.
