Man, I’m swamped.
Half a dozen projects at once, and it’s not slowing anytime soon.
Last year this time I was doing battle with the incoming water lines. Had to keep water on a trickle to keep them from freezing. Last fall I did a little work that made this less likely, and thankfully, so far at least, it has worked.
Rav4 is running nicely, it has a little odd shudder at idle in gear but I attribute that to 4 cylinder engine, I still need to hose out the throttle body and MAF sensor, and do fluid changes.
Have to get the daughter’s car in the garage and swap out the head gasket. Hope to have ready for her at Easter.
All this in addition to all the other shit. Still. Good to be above ground.
Good morning, and good to seeya, sir.
Seems 2016 is starting out the same for a bunch of us ’round here. Too much busy, too little time.
Compounding that, my 87 y/o step mom racked up her 2nd fender bender in three months. This, after a lifetime of not so much as a parking ticket.
Gonna be a rough one when I have to go and take the keys away, but it’s coming, I’ve no doubt.
Days like this is when I know how Wylie E. Coyote feels, right when he realized he’s four steps past the cliff.

or four feet from the on rushing ground.
Four bangers are notorious for shaking like a dog with fleas. Does not matter as to make, I think it has to do with they harmonics of the crank, pistons and rods.
But what do I know. If it was not for hard work we would not know we are alive.
Paul B….most of the makers pay Mitsubishi a royalty on the counterbalance shaft for the four-bangers now. Unless said patent has expired, that is?
It does help quite a bit, but yeah, that inherent shake is baked into the cake.
For an inline four, anyway. Make it a flat-four, like early Subies or Gold Wings up to the 1987 1,200cc units, and you’ll get a perfect primary balance, with only a bit of secondary crankshaft wobble on the longitudinal axis.
And a six-cylinder ‘Wing? You can balance a nickel on the idling engine.
Alas, a Gold Wing really is a poor choice as a snow car, so……
