Another couple of rough weeks
VERY busy, and no end in sight.
Trying to get a roof on the house before the end of the season. Not easy. Lots of shit going on and the roofer is good so he’s busy. Oy.

Always hard to get good help. Hope you get it closed in before the first snow.
I was just thinking about you today, wondering why you have been MIA.
It is tough for me to remember that some places are prepping for winter when I am still running the AC 24/7.
Oy.
Oh, it’s still plenty warm here, it’s just that I need to get the roof on while it’s warm or the shingles won’t seal properly.
Hey Og, Don’t worry about the shingles sealing. My roof was damaged bad enough to need reshingling after superstorm sandy. Since we were in November, there were going to be no warm enough days for the singles to glue down. A reputable roofer will then use 6 nails per shingle instead of the normal 3 to hold things together during the winter until summer comes. Works good, unless you are the guy doing the tear off the next time.
Our roofer is a good guy, has the Certain Teed school behind him, very capable. And reasonable. Therefore busy. Still, I want to have this behind me.
Hang in there… It will get done.
But thanks for the encouragement, it does make me feel better.
Og, I concur though with Stephana. Insist on that six-nail standard.
It’s both Texas Windstorm and Miami/Dade Code compliant that way.
If it’s good enough for Hurricane Country, it’s good enough for Tornado Alley, too!
Point is though…come a thunderstorm microburst, straight line winds, etc. Go with the six. Ought to be National Code, but hasn’t made it that far, yet.
