yesterday
I didn’t post, not because I’m a good catholic, because I’m not- but because I chose to remember how the only perfect man who ever lived was treated like a criminal and hanged on a cross. I spent the time between noon and three in meditation, thinking about all of the decent people who are being crucified in the media daily. Standards of morality and decency are being assaulted on all sides, and the basest being held up as the golden calf.
Choose wisely. If you’re not being persecuted for your beliefs, if you’re not being assaulted because of your morals, you’ve probably gotten it wrong. Happy easter, everyone.

Good post, and unfortunately in today’s society, very true.
You’re right og. Well said. Happy Easter to you as well.
As a Transcendental Apathist the celebration means noting to me.
I was instead thinking about what 14 April is the anniversary of in American history.
14 April 1865 was the day that Abraham Lincoln was shot.
One can argue that we still suffer from the results of that bitter loss.
In 1865 the day was also Good Friday, and the 16th was Easter.
Unfortunately the radicals in his own party would have crucified him (no pun intended) over his concept of Reconstruction. “Let ’em down easy” was his view. It didn’t survive him.
