DMV and Friday
So today I’m gonna try to get tags for the bike, and get the registration transferred for the camper, and get insurance etc. on some things. So i’ll be dealing with the DMV and the insurance company. Bound to be a fucktard in there somewhere. Wish me luck!

Wow, Og, you’re a braver man than me. You’re gunna do this on a Friday? Better pack a lunch.
DOUBLE WHAMMY !
DMV? Have you practiced your Spanish?
What? Isn’t your DMV open on Saturday? You really need to get out of there.

Saturday? you mean when everyone else is there? As opposed to a weekday when there’s 1/8th the traffic? And get out of where- the state with the longest unbroken history of concealed carry in the midwest?
Good luck with that nonsense.
Oh man, I smell a great post coming out of this one.
Og, if in doing all that, you only encounter one ‘tard, it’s your lucky day.
Godspeed, friend.
At dmv. Dmv liveblogging. It is sucking my will to live
Holy cow, you’re in fucktard central!
Man, I’m telling you. I went there to do three things:
1: get a tag for the bike.
2: get a bike learner’s permit
3: get the camper titled and tagged.
1:I got the motorcycle tag.
2:THe learner’s permit required a test, (which i failed by one point) which I would have studied for, but which the Motorcycle operator’s manual OMITS, letting you know there’s a written for the motorcycle operator, but NOT the permit, Thanks, fucktards.
3:The camper requires a VIN verification. A cop has to come to the house to verify the VIN number of the trailer, fill out a form. Since I have a car parked in the yard with expired out of state plates, I can’t invite a cop over, and I can’t get rid of the sister’s Honda until she coughs up the $75 for the new tags.
Dude- Do what we do back in Washington. Place a large blue tarp over the car in question. If the officer says: “What’s that?” Just say: “It’s the Washington State Flag- everyone has one!”
I hope you took along some reading material.
Whatever. I always do my DMV stuff (when I can’t do it by mail) first thing they open on Saturday. Never anybody there but me and the clerks, and they’re all cheerful and shit, which they are NOT at 4:30 in the afternoon.
And, I don’t really care how long a state has HAD CCW, as long as they have it NOW.

Of the 4 indiana DMV’s in driving distance from here, not a one ever has less than a line of 150 people by opening time on saturday. The line starts forming at six. The DMV opens at nine. There isn’t anyone there at all on wednesday until noon. That was the day I WAS shooting for- but no such luck.
Good luck. ;)
