The expressways this week
are amazing. Six thirty to nine to get in in the AM, (55 miles) and six to eight thirty yesterday evening to get home. I’m about to go do it again. WIsh me luck. I still think this is a viable option. And yes, this still applies.

I did 52 miles each way for the last fifteen years and I for one am glad that crap is over.
These days I only have 25 miles each way. Morning takes about 45 minutes, evening about 35, & those are due to some unnecessary 40-mph speed limits.
Use the Suzuki, Og. Lane-splitting is a wonderful time-saver. The big timesaver will be when I get good enough weather to put the clutch in the CB900F!
Better bring the beagle with you Og. I wouldn’t want you to run out of gas. heheh
Lord that is the one thing I soooo don’t miss about Chicago – the traffic. I just have to laugh when the peeps out here in the Boston area talk about “traffic” – they have NO CLUE – NONE! They think the traffic backups in the tunnel because of accidents is just horrendous.
Yet, yesterday we went to Boston – left the city at 4pm – drove all the way back home at 65-75 MPH, stopping only for toll booths (tell me when you can do that ANYWHERE in an 80 mile radius of Chicago at 4pm!
I have, several times, gone out to shopping centers that are about 20 miles away – at 5:30 to 6pm – maybe there’s one place I have to slow down to 40mph until I pass the exit for the Mass Pike. It’s simply unbelievable.
But I think the worst drive ever is the bottom of Lake Michigan into Northern Indiana – it has never ever been good. My daughter went to Purdue for 4 years, there was never a time it was NOT under construction – never ever. Hell is Chicago during rush hour.
I’ve thought some time now about the paintball option, but it would be mounted discreetly under the bumper. Rain and corrosion issues have not been worked out yet.
Bad enough customs wanted to know why I had a machete in my trunk, eh? How would the paint gun have gone over?
