The K31
Having fired ten rounds through this rifle, I know that if I could only have one rifle, this would be the one.
I didn’t have the confidence in my skills to even attempt the 100 yard range, but I figured maybe I could put them on the paper at 50. So I pinned up some targets- the only thing I had on hand were a bunch of NRA a-36 smallbore rifle
Now, here’s what they look like downrange:
Nephew at the trigger:
I started with six (a full magazine)

Then I shot the last four out of the box.

Ten shots in all. At a target I could barely see. All within a moment of goblin. If I had a target I could see, I can’t imagine how I could do.
All in all? man, I love this rifle. I wish I could lay my hands on one of the sniper versions.
Update: Well, shut my mouth! It seems as if AIM surplus is now out of these fine rifles. I’m damned glad I bought when I did!!

Dayum! Local gun shop has one for $130. Might have to pick it up. . .
Jay, spend the cash, and get a hand pick at AIM surplus.
Not too shabby at all for iron sights and a new feel. Take it out to one hundred and see how ya do.
I’m gonna. I’m also gonna get the scope mount and see if it’s as good as it seems.
og,
First off, from what I’ve heard, AIM is all out.
Secondly, getting *ANY* firearm into the Volksrepublik of MA is a stone-cast bitch. . .
If they’re on the website, they’re available. AIM takes stuff down when it’s out of stock, and they do it quite regularly. THey said they didn’t have a lot of them, but they had some.
As far as MA I’m sorry. I hope you can either move to a place where freedom exists, or find someone willing to hang the officials who took your freedom away.
Hmm, I’d love to tell you about Dad’s Mauser, but I keep getting whacked for inappropriate content. Looks like your filter has something against German firearms :)
If you use ellipses it will knock it out every time.
I was gonna say – you can SEE that target. *grin* It makes me feel much better now that you said you were hitting it without actually seeing it very well.
I could see enough to locate the dots. Not easy,. but possible.
og,
From AIM website: “MASSACHUSETTS CUSTOMERS: 01 FFL Dealers may purchase handguns that are on the MA approved for sale list, rifles without high capacity magazines. No C&R firearms sales. No high capacity magazine sales to anyone or dealer in MA. No Ammunition Sales.”
Have I mentioned lately that I hate this state???
(And I’d move in a heartbeat if I could convince Mrs. G to move. . .)
I own two K31 rilfes. The last three digets of one of them’s serial number is, 666. Naturally it’s devilishly accurate.
Have also owned a M-1911 Looong rifle since about ’88. It’s a lot heavier than the K31, and longer of course. But talk about a rfileman’s rifle!
In referance to the K-31, you need to go out to 200 yards and give it a workout. Mine shoots very well at that distance, very comparable to my A3 Springfield. Not bad when you shoot center mass like the army teaches, thats using a 15 inch square.
