OK, a poll:

where is the all of the above option at?
I think later is better.
A few people said it was pretty short notice.
Chicago area. To be determined.
I put an updated post up, too.
I just talked to T1G this evening and was asking about a Chicago minimeet later this summer. I doubt I’ll do anything all formal but would like to meet some of the local bloggers again…as well as meet some new faces. I’m buying an airline ticket very soon…probably just gonna get a flight in and hope that a lot of people are around. At first glance, July 14-16 seems like a good weekend for me. I missed you in Austin so hopefully I can meet you in Chicago.
FYI – you might want to check with Leslie (Omnibus Driver) as she’s been planning something for this summer, too.
FYI #2 – good luck getting responses. Planning blogmeets is herding cats. Just get a few people’s suggestions and then pick a weekend that’s good for you. If you *do* get 50 votes, I’d be surprised.
Midwest Blog Meet
I was going to post this earlier and got sidetracked. Og is trying to set up a Midwest blogmeet. If you’re a Midwest blogger or want to head to the Midwest for a big party, click on over here and…
i don’t get a vote as i am in san antonio. i’m jealous of your mini meet.
off to try and find san antonio area bloggers
Mlah, get you some frequent flyer miles.
Option #4
I’m leaving OKC for Nova Scotia on the 14th…guess I can swing on by the Windy City on the way out…
Damn. Before I read the earlier post, I thought you might be talking about a march on Washington, DC.
This is the closest thing to that, by the way. I think they should change the name and remove “mothers”, because it makes it sound exclusive.
(Sorry for the obvious-by-now “off topic”!)
I kinda like the mid-July one myself, since I’m going to be having company end of June.
Not even sure I’d be invited, but if I were, I’d cast my vote equally for every option _except_ #3. (Which, due to the distance I’ll be travelling to visit my fiancee’s family, counts as part of the Independence Day holiday for me.)
Were I welcome, I would definitely come for any of the other proposed dates.
Later is better for me Og – the last weekend in July or one of the first couple of weekends in August.
Sounds like fun! I sure hope I can come…
Potential Blogmeet!
Og the Neanderpundit is trying to put something together…. A Midwest Blog Meet (though he says you’re welcome wherever you are from…)
…Oh! And Rave over at Quid Nunc has a great suggestion for a class/game.
All but options 1 and 3
Mid-July sounds good to me.
I’ll go for “all of the above”–but, since that’s not an option, I’ll go for late June. That doesn’t count, either, since I’m already taking my vacation starting June 21: Honda Hoot, here I come (along with several thousand other riders)!
The weekend of the 14th works good for me.
WooHoo!! I can’t wait.
And Zonker? Zonker might come?!?! EVEN BETTER!!!
Let me know if I can help with anything. Since I’ll be local and all. ;-)
Anything after the weekend of July 8th (that’s Elderspawn’s birthday so I’ll be doing family stuff). Like the others said, the more advance notice the better.
You all need to work on dragging Bou’s arse up here :)
Not herding cats. Herding tectonic plates.
Whatever everyone else wants is fine with me. Just let me know if you need an hand with anything, ‘kay?
Julie 14-16… I like her bestest.
I am voting for any of the above, if I am in town.
Damn, I will miss yet another blog meet. One day…
Until then, I shall live vicariously through all of you. *grin*
July 14-16 is good for me.
