First official ride
So I just took the first official ride on the Suzuki. Just around the block, mind you. Enough to know (after riding a “real” bike) what needs to be fixed and what needs to be improved.
Felt good. Felt like nothing before. Even in a helmet, being out in the wind was good. Now I know I have to do some brake adjustment and some chutch adjustment, and fix a leaky seal or two, I’ll be OK.
Cager no more.

Okay, where’s the pictures?
Are you shitting me? I can barely ride, let alone take pictures at the same time.
Besides, you don’t want pictures of me. Grown men have clawed their eyes out.
Were you humming “Born to be Wild” while you were cruising?
Heh.
Cagers.
Havn’t heard that on for a while.
I’m older than dirt, and have been riding for 40+ years, and still don’t know it all.
Practice your slow speed manouvres like figure ‘8’ s and tight circles (both ways). Practice looking UP at where you want to go NOT at the ground when slow riding.
Faster riding is not difficult, but it does take some confidence in yourself and some instinctive feel for the bike. The more you practice slow riding, the better control you will have in all situations.
Above all, enjoy yourself. Even after 40+ years, I still get a buzz just cranking the bike up for a ride.
Keep the small Jap bike for a few months until you are fully competent. Do not buy a race bike that will kill you as soon as look at you, and do not buy a cruiser that will handle like a dead pig. Save those choices until you know what you like.
Keep the shiny side up, see you on the road somewhere.
Og, the 24th I was on my way back from being surrounded by vintage Japanese horsepower at the Honda Hoot. Pure heaven.
Now I gotta get the 900F going. My 450 feels more like a moped than ever.
