Second official ride
Rode the bike around a bit today. Has an idle issue that I need to resolve. Probably carb o-rings, but they’re on order and I should know in two days.
Still not exactly relaxed. Still trying to fine tune the bike’s performance so it more closely matches what I had at school. Only making short trips around the block so far.
Also, I have seals to replace- I have a damnable oil leak, I imagine the heat that the bike experienced contributed to it, but the new seals should be here soon.

You ARE aware that motorcycles are not unlike ’50s vintage British sports cars — in that they require constant fiddling?
M
Not true. Most japanese motorcycles run for many years with little or no maintenance whatsoever. I have a friend with an 80’s vintage Yamaha he’s never even changed the oil in.
BRITISH motorcycles are like british sports cars in that respect. I imagine italians have their moments too.
So…, knee scraping around corners yet?
Wagged the tail under brakes?
Put your boot into the door of an errant car driver?
It’s all fun.
Mark,
I have a japanese motorcyce. I do roughly 25,000 kilometres a year on it. Apart from routine servicing (at 6,000 kilometre intervals), I don’t touch it. I’ve even given up checking the oil. I’ve done 60,000 kilometres on it and the carburettors are still balanced.
I have huge bruises on the insides of my thigs from laying the training bike on me twice. Once left, once right.
The learning curve, heh heh.
Be safe damn it.
I never had any problems with my Schwinn.
Oh! You guys are talking about motorcycles. Never mind.
Hey og, what’s a thig ?
