Getting used to biking
Still pretty scary, and it takes me a bit to get up the nerve, even just driving around the hood.
Every time I ride, it’s another little oil leak to fix, another adjustment to make, and little by little i’m getting this 25 year old bike back to running snuff. Learning as much about motorcycling and motorcycles as I am about riding.

At least the sore foot makes coming to a stop a delicate experience.
Be careful riding that way. You’re more impared than you realize probably.
yeah, Dick, I’m all about safety. Mine and others. And I’m not interested in fucking up the bike I’ve spent so much time on.
It’s good. Anything that makes you more cautious, especially as a novice, is good (although it can be overdone). My little group lost a friend over the 4th of July holiday. He’d been riding for 30-some years, former racer, at the time of his death owner of a performance bike shop. He got to thinking he could get away with something, & it killed him. He may have gotten cocky (OK, cockier–he was that way anyway).
RIP, Matt@PSB. Og, ride safe & keep that head on a swivel, bro.
You got that right. I’m actually thinking about getting bigger mirrors.
Dammit. Yesterday I walked into a bike shop to kill time between sales calls.
There it was: a brand new BMW Paris to Dakkar street trail machine. It’s beautiful. As soon as my quad is paid off in 3 years time, I am gonna walk in and buy that machine right off the show room floor. My wife is going to kill me.
Og, some pics of you and your machine would be muchly appreciated.

No pics of the great and powerful Og exist.

Og, you have to ride fearlessly. I’m not talkin’ incautiously, but if you are nervous and doubtful of your skills, it may cause you to question yourself in an emergency. Every second counts.
You have to get to the point where you can hop on your bike and not have your heart race every time you start it!!
I’m getting there. I have to overcome some mechanical difficulties first, this is a 25 year old bike I’m trying to tune.
You *do* realize that you’re on the way to Sturgis, right?
I *am* going to stop in and pick you up for the remainder of the trip. You know that, right?
I have a feeling we could get into a fair amount of trouble. Heh.
Be a long time before I’m ready to make a trip like that.
