The bike seems to ride
better and better as I ride it more. Or maybe I’m just learning more. Rode it out of the neighborhood and on “real” roads for the first time. A little nervously. But I was riding. I have to force myself to ride more, do more, go more places. And this winter, I’m gonna rebuild this bastard ground up. Next summer I’m gonna USE the bike.
Looks like it gets 60 mpg, too. Be good for the range. Can you see me coming back from the slough, muzzleloader taped to the bars, deer draped across the back fender? or riding with a saddle scabbard screwed to the left side cover?

On a motorcycle, I’d be very impressed.
But this guy did it on a bicycle:

I love the comments on that page that follow the photo: “i guess nothing rides like a “deer”, does it, eh?”, and ” It don’t run like a deer no more, eh?”
I’m sure that guy is someone who lights his cigar by putting it between his teeth and holding his face in the fireplace until he gets a good, even light…
You’re getting more comfortable with it, that’s for sure.
It always takes a few with a new scoot.
I have an ’01 Road King availabe that I can buy right now, and I’m about halfway seriously looking at it.
1800 miles, never laid down, garage queen to be sure, and I think I can buy it for about 10K.
We’ll see, I have a house that needs rebuilt first.
And this winter, I’m gonna rebuild this bastard ground up
Hehehe, it always starts this way.
yeah, I have the bug, no question.
The bike’s riding the same as it ever has. It’s your confidence that’s getting better.
Good. I don’t want to ride to Sturgis with a damn greenhorn…
Why waste the duct tape? Just get a Drag Bag. :^)

60 mpg, Og? Damn, I’m impressed. 50 is the best I’ve gotten out of the 450 Honda. Then again, I need to rebuild the clutch (if I ever get time off from restoring the 900F).
You’re hooked, all right.
Love the idea of bringing back a dead deer on a motorcycle.
What muzzleloaders do you shoot?
If you ever happen to be in the Henderson / Las Vegas area of Nevada, I would like to invite you to shoot some of my front-stuffers.
Thompson Center Renegade, System One, Cherokee, New Englander (12 Ga and .54) and a Ruger Old Army stainless revolver.
