I smoke two joints in the morning…

And my doctor says it’s OK.

The Justice Department announced on Monday that federal drug agents will no longer arrest or prosecute people who are legally using, selling or supplying medical marijuana in the states that allow it.

great.

Actually, I don’t know whether to be upset or elated. There’s the fact that The Won has now sewn up the votes of pretty nearly all the Ron Paul supporters, and O’s liberal minions will be even more elated.
On the nother hand, there’s the effects that dopesmoking provide. “Duuude, yesterday? I thought it was super WEDNESDAY. Sorry, man, I’ll vote next time”. Though not being at a polling place never prevented millions of people from voting before.

I’m agnostic on the point. I give a shit what chemicals someone wants to jam in their kisser, and if you see the folks who do this, and what losers most of them are, it puts you off it right away. Or at least causes you to be more temperate. Never knew a hardcore wake&baker that didn’t end up a convenience store clerk or a roadie. Not that there’s a damned thing wrong with either profession, I just can’t imagine that being the pinnacle of my success, I surpassed both those professions in my teens.

So yeah, I don’t necesarily think this is a bad thing- it’s a waste of a lot of law enforcement dollars, and a lot of people become petty criminals and do time because of something that pretty much by definition is about as innocuous as smoking a Lucky. And now The Won gets to take credit for making it easier, and you KNOW the other states will follow suit so quickly it will make your head spin.

Free brakes!

Last night I changed the brakes on the Exploder. I bought the first set, 14 sets ago, 1n 2000. ANd because I bought the lifetime brakes, the replacements were free. Autozone hates me.

All day today, I felt a wobble that hadn’t been there before. I checked the lugs and they were all tight, so I had no idea. On the way home it seemed to get worse, or maybe I was just more annoyed by it. So i pulled in the drive, lifted it, pulled the wheel, brake caliper, caliper bracket, and the disk.

There, under the disk, was a piece of rust, that had probably fallen in between the rotor and the hub. It was .005 thick. I cleaned and replaced everything, and it’s rock steady.

That’s knowing your vehicle, when you can feel a .005″ thick piece of rust between the hub and rotor. Guess driving the same truck for 350,000 miles has a few advantages.

Knife woes again

Lost my Uncle Henry due to big holes in my damned pants pockets. I think I’m gonna make myself a belt holster that will hang on to the knives more securely. In the meantime I have been carrying my Swiss Army Champ. Feels like a whole loaf of frozen bread in my pocket, and it’s hard on my ass. Such ass as I have these days.

So today I went to the Crown Point Funshow, or as we affectionatly refer to it, “Jerky, Candy, and some things that go bang”

We were not disapointed, for the most part, in our disapointment. Same group of stuff. Same guy selling gun cases- though we do always buy something because it is made in the USA.

One new dealer, who seemed to specialize in the odd. he had a Geco 1933, in flawless condition. I mean, out of the box new condition. He had a bucketload of Win 1895’s, many of them with the case colors intact. Including a 30-40 Krag version. A 30-06 Saddle Ring. A 1895 Russian Contract, chambered for the 7.62 x 54r. Did I mention he had a krag Carbine- a real one- with it’s blue intact? A prussian Cape gun in 16 gauge/9.3X74R.

Nothing I could afford. Lots of beautiful old rifles in amazing condition, including a Winchester bolt action repeater, tubefed through the stock, whose action was indistinguishable from a nagant. I never did find a marking that indicated it’s type, just the big Winchester stamp, and what appeared to be a magazine cutout switch on the side. It was in incredible condition. I suspected this dude of having a flux capacitor stowed away in his Durango. Or at the very least an Oscillation Overthruster.

At our local shops we also saw an SVT40

We also stopped by Precision Cartridge and loaded up the truck and moved to beverl… No, wait, we just loaded up the truck. Have to deliver that stuff monday. Dennis is gonna hook me up with some nice 45-70 stuff to practice with.

And on the way out of the show we looked at the collection oif used knives in tupperware containers and I found a replacement oldTimer, anda Buck muskrat, both very worthy knives of the style i like the most.

All in all, a productive day.
