You have missed something essential in the concept of “tree stand”.

Right up to yesterday afternoon, the odds were good I was going to have to go back to Cincinnati. I found out I didn’t have to go friday at four thirty. Too damned late to even make last minute arrangements. I would have loved to go, but it just wasn’t in the cards. My humblest apologies to all the folks who worked so hard to put it all together- and I hope it’s as much of a riot as it was last year.

I’m going to bring a short length of rope with me hunting

So I can tie it around my chest, to the tree.

So I don’t fall asleep and fall out of the tree stand.
