i have always relied on rain

To wash away my grief, or at least offer me some solace. For Max, the rain took a week coming and when it did arrive it was a cold hard rain. As if G-d himself knew how cold and gutted i was, and had only the numbness of cold to offer me.

Partners friends and onetime tenants have a pair of heelers which i got to meet saturday. It helped, though not enough. Not yet.

The Oglet fences

close by here today; not close by enough that it’s a come and go thing, we’ll have to drive a couple hours. But it will be the first time we’ve seen her since August.

She has been eating from the school’s lavish cafeteria for a couple months now, and has been wearing the same very tight clothes she went to school with. And she hasn’t spent a dime of the cash in her account, which means she hasn’t gained the freshman 15.

I suppose fencing and powerlifting four days a week plus tournaments is going to affect that but I’m particularly pleased. And I’m happy to be able to see her again as she may not be able to come home for thanksgiving.
