Well, that was new.

I had my optometrist drop off a car to get new brakes and I did them last night.

I’m on blood thinners so my normal slice and dice is out of the question; I wore gloves and let the tools do most of the work, and ended up the evening not bleeding from any new orifices. For maybe the first time in my life. It was a little irritating, having to be extra cautious-frankly, I usually just try to see to it that i don’t lose a digit.

Starting to feel like a damned wimp. I once had sex while I had an actively bleeding headwound; now I’m wrenching like I’m fragile.

As of eleven last night

the ticker was mostly back on track. Not the metronome I have been used to lo these 53 years, but sounding a lot better than the day before. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers.

So, the verdict is in.

Somewhere out on Lake Michigan while puking my guts up in a bucket, I developed AFIB. Now, my MD tells me that this is something I was already predisposed to, and that it’s not that i did anything to cause it, though it may have been triggered by the stress of 6 hours of wanting desperately to DIE.

Anyway, he’s put me on blood thinners and some kind of $400-a-month medication to get my ticker ticking. I hope it works. The alternative is to pe put under and then zapped. Actually, I would almost like to be zapped while awake but he said that’s not fun. I am the only member of my lineage never to have been struck by lighting.

The blackirish girl doing the EKG had a lovely accent, and I told her her job was like sex in the male mind. A lot of preparation, for 90 seconds of actual “Event”. Then the girl gets to clean up the mess while the man dresses and leaves. SHe laughed util she peed herself a little.
