too warm

Little incentive for deer to move. They need some cold to get them up and looking for calories.

Still, perched here on this abandoned (I hope!)Badger’s sett, life is very fine. The occasional sprinkling of rain, though it does little to bring deer near, washes the orneriness out of me and I feel as if I can be whole again soon, maybe I just need three or four more weeks of this.

Insult, meet injury.

Just yanked a HUGE snow white nostril hair.

I don’t even WANT the damned things, let alone want them to turn grey.

Dogs barking

Spent a good chunk of my day yesterday climbing around inside machinery. A lot of that time you end up doing things like standing on pipes or straddling rails, and the pressure to the arch of your foot is incredible. Add to that the inherent slipperiness of the equipment, and the strength you need in your calves and thighs to keep from sliding everywhere, and my legs feel like they’ve been beaten with hammers, feet as if they’re going to turn into a giant cramp.
