I got 1/3 of the way to work today, and the truck started overheating. The thermostat turned out to be bad, but I’m also suspicious of the water pump, etc.

In the process of dismantling the damned thing, I have broken off a stud in the block. Now I have to dismantle even FURTHER than I had to before, just to get to the broken stud, chase it out, and put the engine back together.

So I’ll drive the Honda for several days and fight with the bastard, hopefully finishing it before the weekend.

Sometimes I HATE cars so damned much. Anyway, I’ll be greasy for some time to come. Light posting etc. etc.

Update: The broken studs are out. The gasket surfaces have been scraped. The bolts are on order. I should have the whole thing together in a couple of days, but I have a job I need to get to. So I’ll drive the Civic (Honda! The Car that you Wear!) until I can do this right and get it done.
