It has been twenty years

since I could straighten my left knee completely. Straighten to lock, so to speak. I can straighten the right to lock, but between injury and surgery it stops before I get any closer than about 5 degrees.

So if I balance myself on my left foot I have to use the muscles in that leg to carry all my weight, where the right I can just lock it and it supports me with little effort.

Not so big a deal, usually, but Monday begins IMTS. And there’s a lot of standing involved.

No, I won’t be working this year- foir the second time in thirty years- but I’ll still hit the show and it will still involve a LOT of standing around. So i’ll take good doses of Vitamin I, and hope for the best.

Last night

Was Junior orientation night at the Oglets school. We have to start looking at universities for her, and it isn’t going to be easy.

Nor cheap.

Nor painless. but it’s the only job I have to do that has any actual value attached to it, so I might just as well get it right.

Damn. When did she get so big?

No regrets

Just a little regretsy. H/T my dear old friend and confidant Mlle Jenny.
