Doctor, doctor, give me the news.
I have come to the contusion that the arm and hand pain I’m experiencing mayt be less a function of my hands than of my neck/shoulders. So this morning I staggered off to se my chripractor Tammy to talk with her about potential remedies.
She apparently decided I was too short, for after aiming several of my chakras in the general direction of the equator and aligning my spine at right angles to the space time continuum, she put me in traction.
Not the kind of traction you see people in movies, where they’re attached to a frame over a bed, but one of these.
I’m supposed to go back for more treatments. I wonder how long before I look like this.
Not that I’ll ever look asian, mind you.

If it did that to your neck maybe it would pull ur giggle berries closer to your body so that they would stop hitting the water when you sit on the toilet…
Massage therapy. Og my friend, it works.
Lol.
The only kind of massage therapy that ever did me any good, was the unethical massage. And That just transfers the carpal tunnel to someone else!!
I’ve tried the professional massage therapy several times, it just made my wallet lighter. Nothing anyone ever did for me ever had any effect that lasted all the way back out to my car.
Og,
One thing that will really help your neck and back is the excercise you get from swimming.
If you do the Front-Crawl where you breathe on both sides when you do the stroke, it will strengthen quite evenly important muscles in your neck.

You’ll also get teh added perk of a remarkable increase in added strength and endurance without all the showy bulk you would get from weightlifting.
Just a thought.
lol.
yeah, swimming.
it’s 16 here.
I don’t own a pool, and if I did, it would be a little cold.
I don’t belong to, and can’t afford, to belong to any place that has a pool.
I swim a lot like luggage loaded with bricks.
Please note in the video I posted, the continual use of back and neck muscles (and the ample muscle and tone that each have, too) that each swimmer uses.
VERY good excerise for those who are not too injured (there are some people whose injuries are so severe, it is not recommended that they swim).
Okay.
It was just a thought.
I do appreciate the suggestions. Swimming is excellent exercise; so is walking across the African plains. I can’t do either right now, and if I had the choice, it would be Africa.
I’m starting to get used to the pain, but it would be nice to sleep through the night once in a while.
It is true that swimming is infinitely boring. But if you ever do get an opportunity to do it on a consistent basis (and have the money for a yearly memebership at a local – or near your job – fitness center), I would suggest that you do it considering your situation. Besides, if you show up at the pool on a consistent basis you will find other people to swim with and that makes the insufferable boredom a little better.
Though I swam competitively as a kid and had a coach who help improve my stroke, there are ways taht you can learn it now without all the intensive guidance from another person.
This is what Tim Ferris came across and I was impressed with the techniques in how to help you swim in a proper fashion:

I do believe you would eventually reduce or eliminate your pain in time. Ask your chiropractor what she thinks.
It sure beats going under the knife.
Cond: This is northwest indiana. If summer comes on a weekend, we have a picnic.
There are two local clubs that have pools. One has a monthly membership that equals the cost of a decent car payment, which I do not have. The other is the expensive one.
I wallow around in the water for six or seven days in late august, every year, at the inlaws cottage on Lake Huron. That’s the extend of the swimming I ever do. Swimming may be the most wonderful exercise on the planet; it’s not going to happen here.
Okay, I understand.
I guess I take for granted that I live in the urban enviroment of Minneapolis and work at the University of Minnesota (Olympic pool) where there are many options of that nature.
Sorry to hear you are in such pain. Its the only thing I could think of that would eventually solve your problem if you had the nearby resources to pursue it.
I don’t know that there are any solutions, only alternatives. Right now the alternatives are not so good.
