Harry McGowen got raided.
I stopped by there last Thursday AM to have him look at my schuetzen rifle. He quoted me a reline, and then I left; he was apparently going somewhere to look into purchasing a collection of rifles for sale. Harry has bought and consigned collections in the past; I expect that a lot of it involves hauling the guns back and sitting around for five days filling out all the paperwork.
This time I think he might have been set up. He hauls back a load of guns and before he can get to the paperwork the Chicago ATF shows up.
Harry has been doing this since 1959. I doubt very much if he has been in the habit of breaking the law. Since he was a long time manufacturer and not just a gunsmith, this does perk up my ears to 11.

Well, when the BATFEIEIO Bosses in Washington refuse to go after Gang Bangers because of their “Politically Protected Status,” I guess the Field Offices can only justify their Paychecks by going after Old Gunsmiths.

Man, what a bummer. We must kick that bastard out. And once he is out try his sorry ass for sedition or treason, or just becuase we don’t like him very much.
