I have a nice rifle, a McGowen barreled Interarms Mark X on a plain jane stock. It shoots well but the trigger is not so great, and I have had some issues getting the scope solidly mounted (To my satisfaction). I bought a Timney trigger at the show, and got a promise of a hot new stock, and found a really nice American made Bipod, even found a nice scope mounting system guaranteed to lock down tight. SO in upcoming posts I will describe in detail with pictures the transformation of the old and plain to a nice midrange rifle.

Nicholson has always been a superior actor. And it is unquestionable that Morgan is incredible. Why is it that in this day and age, the really great ones are like this? Why does Nicholson have to be a dick? Why does Freeman have to be a racist? Were the old generation of actors like this? Carey Grant, Jimmy Stewart? Randolph Scott, Slim Pickens? Was the media better at covering it up?

I don’t know. It taints a movie, sometimes, to see Nicholson being a decent human when you know he is a massive dick. And it is an effort to watch the character Freeman plays without seeing the racist moron behind the persona.

Dreampt last night of having adopted a skunk from the local animal shelter. It was a tiny thing, soft and inquisitive as a whole herd of raccoons, so it required some energy to keep up with it until I had properly skunk proofed the house. I had a friend who had one as a pet when I was young, so I know what they’re personalities are like- I like Skunks a lot more than I like cats.

Anyway my dream skunk was not de-scented, so everyone treated him like an alderman correcting Rahm Immanuel’s grammer; really, it wasn’t necessary because the skunk was not anywhere near spraying. I spent a lot of time with it, in my dream, and in a moment of quiet I heard the skunk actually say something. It was a shock to hear that it could talk, it had a tiny voice with a sort of a Czech accent, and it made it ever so much cuter. Needle sharp teeth, though, and I was playing with it as I woke and I swear I woke up and looked for holes in my thumb.
