Many thanks

to reader Professor Hale for the fire control group he sent me for my new Black Gun. This was infotaining, as it showed that the hammer I received had skipped a manufacturing step. The other revelation was the difference in quality of the parts- the MIM I got in the kit was obviously lowest common denominator. The stuff P Hale sent was very nice indeed.

Hope to do range reports soon. I need to make a barrel tightening block, the barrel seems much tighter than it needs to be. I can easily exceed 80 foot pounds trying to line up a slot, and that doesn’t seem right.

Just because the horse doesn’t seem dead enough yet

let me talk about my feelings on Christian Dogma.

Three years ago this month I was in a Catholic mission in Zambia. I was visiting with my methodist friends and a bunch of folks were there from the local Jehova’s Witness and baptist missions as well.

They were working on getting a reliable, safe water supply to the mission, and it was not easy work. I was impressed by the way they worked together, and surprised to see the baptists and jw’s and catholics working side by each. I asked my methodist hosts what they did to keep peace among people of such varied dogmas.

“They want to make sure people live, first. When everyone lives, then they’ll worry about other things. Life is the first most important goal”

I have never been as impressed by Christians in my life, and the real Christianity of those people call to me still, I desire to be around people that act their faith. They are in short supply on our shores.

Because I haven’t done so in a while

let me point out that I am digging the shit out of Ed Herings unfinished book “Dig” Drug pusher he is, he sends me a couple pages now and then, and waits until the whining is at 90 decibels or above and sends another couple pages. bastard.

But at least I got to read it, and you didn’t.
