Having spent today chasing down and informing my best friend and his brother about their mother’s demise, I’ve had enough.

I’m going afield tomorrow, to hunt deer. I hope I see a couple. I have to zero in a new scope first. I will be doing both things on the same property, Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife area in Kingsbury Indiana. Where I broke my 25 year cherry last year. A good thing, you know? I do know I’m anxious to leave all this behind me and go where I can be at complete peace for a couple of hours. This is long overdue.

Couple years back, partner’s dad died at home. His mom was out vacationing with a friend.

Mom went over to find the guy sitting in bed, the dog shivering with fear in a corner.

This morning mom found partner’s mom dead, sitting in the living room.

I drove up to his house to wake partner up and tell him the news, twice I’ve had to deliver news like that. He had to steady himself on a chair. I didn’t know what else to do, but better from a friend than from a cop.

God rest and keep her in the hollow of his hand. God keep Partner safe and sane through this.
