Things I’ve learned #2

I may be slow, but I eventually spot trends.

It seems no matter how much I try not to be involved in conversations with liberals, (not wanting to engage in battles of wits with the unarmed) I invariably get drawn in because some moron makes a snide comment in what otherwise is a great discussion. I feel compelled to comment, and their response reminds me of the liberal Peewee Herman Argument.

No, stick with me a moment. You make a statement that is true, verifiable, and concise, and rather than state the obvious “That may be true, but let’s discuss x…” the garden variety liberal counters with (the equivalent of) “you are but what am I?” I was reading a discussion in Chez Alli, one of my favorite spots. She was speaking to the decisiveness of the left in regard to their name calling etc, tactics in regard to Bush, and I have to agree with her.. and someone calling himself “jb” (of course, no email or link, what do you expect) comes back with “so there”.

“So there?” I am amazed that four year olds read her blog. Certainly, my daughter got past the “so there” stage when SHE was four, I cannot imagine anyone still spouting that as “reasoning” as an adult.

Idiots. (Lest anyone accuse me of namecalling, “idiot” is a reasonable description of anyone who uses “so there” as a point in an argument. An idiot is above an imbecile and a moron in intelligence, but still of a lower level. Calling George Bush “shrub” etc as Alli points out, is purely partisan.)

Multilingualisim

To the lady at the gas station, trying to explain to the mexicans about the benefits of the gas station’s membership card? Loud does not equal Spanish. Just thought you’d like to know.

How can we sleep while our France is burning?

OK, with apologies to Midlight Oil.

Look, this is no surprise. This is not even unexpected. Anyone with a couple brain cells to rub together knew this was coming. An unarmed populus (except for the Muslims. Sharia doesn’t exclude them from having weapons and that is all they care about) incapable of defending itself, surrounded by socialist nannyisim? And rioting Muslims? Meat for the slaughter.

After French collaborators sold France to germany for thirty pieces of silver, a resistance movement began, and grew. The spirit of those people helped win the war.

As much as people malign the French, I suspect most of the French people are little different from anyone, they only want to live their lives. And, I hope, they still have the spirit that caused those men and women to risk, and lose, their lives, fighting the germans.

Pray for the people of France. Pray that they can live in peace again, and pray that they understand who and what brought them where they are.
