that liberalism would not, could not exist without the office of the media- and today’s situation is clear indication of that, otherwise there’s no way an empty suit sockpuppet with less experience than a high school senior who had a summer job could make it to the position Obama has- and the skrewel system certainly follows the lead of their media betters- but it seems there are actually a lot of people out there stupid enough to believe that socialist policies are good and that statism and collectivism make sense.
This morning Steve talks about the plague, and the fragility of life, and how subject we all are to the whims of nature.
I think he’s right and I think the plague he fears will come, has already come.
Stupid is the plague of the 21st century. And we have it, and you don’t even have to sneeze to spread it. It’s all around you.
When we moved into the house I threw up some shelves and piled books on them, paying a little attention to author but little else.
The books in question number about 2000, and consist, in decreasing order of quantity,
Technical manuals. Mostly Fanuc, some Mitsubishi, some robotic and some CNC. SOme old enough that the line between CNC and robot was blurry. Back when I was a whelp, so to speak.
Ancient techincal manuals. THe Babcock and Wilcox book “Steam”. What was- and may still be the primer of coal and gas fired steam generation for several generations. Applied Thermodynamics. Thermodynamics of the Steam Engine. Dieter’s Mechanical Metallurgy. Manns “bullet’s flight”. A lot of engineering tomes of the turn of the last century.
Science Fiction. A lot of those, probably 400. About 1/4 hardcover. Some signed, a few first editions.
It’s time. I’m going to organize and catalog these bastards if it kills me.
Weather girl says something about “Stormy Weather” so I got the urge to hear Ella sing it. In the sidebar, there was Ella and Louis doing “Summertime”, so i listened to that. And in the sidebar of THAT one was Louis and Johnny singing “Blue Yodel Number Nine”.
Then I see Elvis doing “Folsom Prison” Obviously hammered out of his mind. Then Andy Kaufmann doing elvis.
\And i had to stop. it was just getting ridiculous.
Where do your musical meanderings take you?
