finally

I have been having trouble with the car’s AC for a year or so, it had a slow leak somewhere but I couldn’t be bothered to find it.

Last week I threw a can of dye in and got out the light but nothing.

So monday when I tossed in a can and could actually hear it hissing I was relieved that at least I’d be able to figure out what the hell was going on.

The drier, the only component in the system made of steel, had rusted through. it is wrapped in a blanket of foam, which served two purposes: 1: to keep water against the side fo the drier so it would rust, and 2: to absorb (and thus hide) the dye marker used to find leaks.

The wierd part was that the drier was $51 at my local autozone (Indiana) and $43 at the autozone near my office. Same part, same part number, bolted right in, just cheaper in Naperville. The third richest town in North America. WTF?

Anyway, the Exploder is once again cool as a cuke. For the remaining three days of summer.
