How are the cops looking at it?

Look, I know a few Chicago cops. ANd I’m here to tell you, there are wrong cops everywhere, and Chicago is no exception. But by far, the VAST MAJORITY of Chicago cops are decent guys doing a damned difficult job for little pay under horrible circumstances.
