Rip Van GOP.

The original story, in case you’re not familiar, is about a henpecked husband, not horribly ambitious, who is liked almost universally, except by his spouse. And he wanders off to bowl and drink with some strangers, wherupon he goes to sleep- for some length of time.

We are the nagging wives, wanting to get our husband (the GOP) to do his duties, and we cannot. Thinking himself in fat city, the GOP goes off and falls to sleep, for ages. The Obama presidency has woken it up, but only just barely. We have to change it before it wanders off to innefectiveness again.
