I don’t know what the hardcore gunnies think of him, and I don’t know anything about him except what he has written, but I like a lot of what he writes.

This piece about the Win 94 is particularly nice, and the example in question is a fine one. And the way he writes about the rifle tells me he has the heart of a gunnie, anyway.

If you’re not shouldering a Heym, or a Chapuis, you just don’t have a double. And really, why bother to own one unless it’s a Purdey or H&H?

I had no idea that doubles were about snobbery. Here all these years I thought it was about quickly putting two large holes in something approaching rather quickly.
