OK dammit

I’m sure this is gonna piss a lot of people of, but fuckit.

get the bikes off the fucking road, people. No, really. if you are determined to ride a damned bike, ride it on one of the many damned trails there are for that purpose; otherwise, get it off the fucking road.

First of all, bikers are almost to a man/woman rude, obnoxious, don’t follow the rules of the road, and if you should hit one or they hit you, you’re some kind of a goddamned criminal.
Second, while every car that goes on the road is forced to submit to an ever growing and ever more ridiculous list of safety standards, NONE of those standards apply to bicycles. Some places force you to wear a halmet. Big deal. You should have to meet the same safety standards as the things you share the road with.
Third, the bikes don’t pay for the roads. The cars do. The excise tax, and the fuel taxes paid on the car are what provide the roads.

Roads- modern ones, in the US, are made for cars. Making cars share the space with bikes is stupid, causes congestion and trouble, is dangerous to the biker, and never ends well in a collision. When bikes are forced to comply to the same standards as automobiles, and when they are taxed like automobiles and their fuel, they can use that money to make special bike lanes or areas, but in the meantime the ‘Bike lane” is an envirowhacko wetdream that at it’s core is trouble and stupid, and bedienungsfehler. Stop it.

face still sore

The climb of the double punishes my face more than my shoulder. Actually after shooting the 500 the 45-70 has hardly any discernable recoil to me.

Yes, there are also those who feel my face deserves some punishment.

Shooting big bore

Today at our club we had an Africa shoot. THink we had ten shooters, but this was the first time. We had fullsize sillouettes of lion, kudu, impala, warthog, cape buffalo, plus a cape buffalo front on which ‘Charged” you, and you had to shoot it WITH a reload.

Bugger, that was fun. A lot of guys with big thumping 45-70 rifles, one guy with a beautifully engraved Chapuis in 458 WinMag. I shot the 45-70, as I didn’t have the round count for the match in 500 nitro. (took twenty rounds) I placed third, for which I got this trophy!!

Which has this cool baby zebra inside!

Of course I didn’t shoot for a trophy or anything, I shot because it was a hoot to shoot. Everyone had a great time and the RO was on his game. They set the firing line up to look like a dambo in all five stages. Here’s stage one:
