partner and I drove down to Indy yesterday, late morning. Arrived at the show almost in perfect time to meet his brother Rich hauling his first set of purchases out to the truck, and spent a bit of time in the parking lot with him prior to going back into the show.

The table just inside the door is always my favorite and I always hang there for just a bit because of the selection of doubles and drillings they have there; there was a Purdey 16 gauge that made me drool and it only cost about the same as a nice new car.

I was hoping to run into the Parts Guy- he’s always there for the “big” 1500, not so much for the “Little” 1500’s that happen in the heat of summer. I’m looking for one of the sight hoods for the old Lyman ramp on the Arisaka. Anyway, the Parts guy wasn’t there, but I did what I always do at a gun show, walk around looking at the guns etc. as if they were museum exhibits that I get to touch and feel and maybe even buy.

I want a bayonet for my AR, but the “New’ style are extremely expensive at present and I don’t want one that bad just yet.

I was also looking for spring assist knives but I didn’t see any “Plain” ones, they are all ‘Tactical” which I don’t really like.

Partner is in the process of buying a house ten minutes from me where he can shoot in his backyard!!! We went to the blogmeet and I annoyed the good bloggers of Indiana with my presence, and possibly, my aroma (it was a hot day) and partner and his brother Rich (Who are high-level professional misanthropes)(In addition to being brilliant electrical engineers(Partner) and inspired machinists (Rich))(Kids, don’t try this at home, you’ll just get hurt) got to spend some quality time together discussing the new digs and then we said goodbye and headed for home.

Tamara stopped by and checked out my new boomstick- and no, this did not involve either of us removing any article of clothing- that’s my boomslang you’re thinking of, and it stayed safely nested, thankyouverymuch. I hope we can get her to come up and go to the Nappannee show with us sometime. It would be cool to get her to come to my club and show some of the IDPA duffers there what a professional can do.

And at no point did I run her or her bicycle over with the exploder. I like my tires too much.

I do still think she needs one of these

though this one is probably more tactikewl.
